Paralegal

Your mission
As our Paralegal, you’ll have an integral role in building the legal function that will contribute to enabling strategic initiatives and revenue streams. You will partner with business stakeholders, from supporting the sales team on major deals for customers, to supporting all other super-interesting legal projects across the entire business. The role will involve reviewing legal documents and sorting documents in accordance with the filing system along with drafting legal documents and amending documents as necessary
What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting and assisting our General Counsel in general legal administration
  • Contract reviews and preparation of various commercial agreements (under supervision)
  • Assisting in the process of administering the entire contract lifecycle, from issuing contracts to e-signature
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, standard operating procedures, and best practices across the business
  • Manage a contracts database and the legal tech stack as it develops over time
  • Conducting legal research
  • Supporting the legal, sales and other departments in a variety of contract negotiations
  • Optimize and coordinate the supplier due diligence process, in close cooperation with the legal, finance and security department
  • Assist with the creation and updating of templates and policies
  • Manage corporate administration and insurance-related matters
  • Be the first point of contact for privacy-related questions. 
  • Ensure data protection-related requests and requirements are duly managed and implemented
  • Work in close cooperation with the General Counsel, Legal Counsel, DPO and security departments to ensure legal and security requirements are considered
  • Assist with impact assessments and questionnaires
  • Assist with the creation of training materials and policies
What you’ll bring
  • Native in Dutch and good communication skills in English. French is an asset.
  • Law or another degree (provided you can demonstrate an interest in entering the legal sector as a career).
  • 1-year previous experience in-house or at a law firm is preferred.
  • Experience/ demonstrable interest in high growth SaaS start-ups/ scale-ups
  • Demonstrable interest or experience in Data Protection and GDPR
  • A team player with a “can-do” attitude, cooperative approach and style of work
  • Clear & effective communication skills in oral and written English
  • Ability to take instruction from senior team members
  • Strong research & IT skills
  • High-level attention to detail, high-quality organisation and effective legal drafting skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to grow
  • Enjoy working in a growing, agile, and complex environment
Nice to haves
  • Experience in contracts management and negotiation 
  • Knowledge about GDPR and data protection  
  • Degree in law and/or first experience in a legal role
